In 2011 we became the first Vancouver convention to give a sizable cash prize for best hand made costume. In 2012, we raised the stakes by increasing that grand prize to $1,000 cash. For 2013, we decided to get a little crazy.

Specifically, the Best In Show winner and a friend will fly to The Netherlands for 5 days, and receive 2 passes to Anime Con 2014, home of BorderCos and many other exciting costume and cosplay competitions. The amazing folks of Anime Con have even offered to provide a guide, to ensure you have an amazing time.

The wait is over! Our programming submissions form is now live!
This year we’ve added some new options for programming. In addition to our regular Main Events, Panel, Workshop and Pit Pub locations, we now are adding a dedicated space for throwing parties, and a heavily requested console gaming room! So if you are part of a community or fandom group that would like to throw a party for your fellow fans, we’ve got the perfect space for you!

We are hosting a Magical Girl / Magical Boy Costume Parade!
Since their origin in Japan back in 1962, magical girl (and boy) characters have stolen our hearts time and time again. These kids and young adults tap into their super human powers by invoking a special object, or sometimes reciting a special phrase, frequently accompanied by a dramatic costume change to help protect their identities.
So in conjunction with SilverCity Metropolis and Cineplex Odeon, we will be hosting a Magical Girl and Magical Boy costume parade before the screening of the Part 1 of the Madoka Magica movie this March 14th!
Everyone is invited to dress up as their favourite Magical Girl or Magical Boy character, or create their own! There will be small prizes for all participants (while supplies last), as well as door prizes!
